This is my event calendar.  It must be inline because it saves the information in google userpref variables (no third party script/server used,) and mimics the way that the editbox form submits data, so it has to be inline to submit its own form.

If you wish to use this module and don't know how to make it inline, visit www.parsethis.com/gmodules for directions!

How much events can be saved ?
– ¥€$ 35 months ago
Roughly 50 dates worth (that is with an average of ~ 25 characters stored per date.)

how to make week start with monday??
– KoreV 35 months ago
Do you have to manually delete the events?  Or do the 50 or so dates revolve as the event is passed?

This is the nicest module that I have seen so far. I would like to know the answer to Chris's question (^above^) and also could it be so that the events for today are displayed at the bottom of the box when the user isn't hovering over any dates. If this was enabled I could sign in and easily see what was on without having to hover.

Thanks for the module.

You have to remove them manually.  I thought above having them removed automatically, but then realized there are some cases where you may still want information stored behind the current date.  I, myself, have such information stored before the current date.

Also, due to the limited storage nature of the UserPref variables, adding an extra timestamp of when the information would added would further decrease the number of events that could be stored in an effort to have "revolving" events that cleared the oldest automatically.

Sorry, I would have liked to have done so but then it would be even more burdensome on your amount of storage available.

The same event every year (birtday) - possible ?
– ¥€$ 35 months ago
The same event every year should be pretty easy to implement, I think. Well, at least for a talented person like the guy who made this in the first place.

Thing's like that would be easy to implement... but still that raises the question of is it worth taking up space for events for such a purpose?  Should they be included for the next 2.. 3 or 4 years?  That is 1-4 dates worth of information being stored for just one yearly event.  If you plan on adding a bunch (say 5 people's) birthdays, you've just used up to 20 events worth of space (where you have roughly 50 total.)

To me the manual task of doing it is a better idea.

If you want it to be each year, you can simply jump to the next year in the edit tag and add it again.

Why not just change the handling of dates such that you can define an event without associating a year.  Store it once, display it many times.

If you made this calendar accept an iCalendar URL it could show events hosted at 30boxes.com or upcoming.org.  That would be very useful...hover over a day should show a tooltip message containg all event details for that day.

I would love to use a hover to display it instead of the current method, but I couldn't find anything good that was open-sourced and usable on all browsers.  Point me to something good and I would love to try it.  I need to update this module now anyways, since google has added a way to save variable data using the js API (finally!)

Glad to hear you are updating it, this module is beautiful in it's simplicity!
