just FYI: an error comes up saying "not authorized for inlining, but required", however it installs as inline by default (i used the developer.xml to install this).

try this one, I fixed it and merged in the abilities from the minigoogle module
(hiding the upper content). Plus I added the preference to open a new window when searching (works great with Firefox and opening new windows in tabs)

OK Jay, I have a bone to pick with you, you don't need to go around basically saying "your module sucks, use mine, its a million times better". seriously, do you have no class? And apparently the only way you can get users for your module is if you steal the traffic from others.

My apologies
Not saying that at all simply that I reworked it so that your module would work....
ie Google will not inline the module if its not on the "approved" modules list
if you change it to optional, then the user can put it inline, I changed it so that it will prompt for inlining
also googlemodules won't accept the submission from Google Base
