I watched the show and it broke my heart to see what is going on. I feel that if they can go out and put collars on them and cameras in the holes then they could help them in a way. I know they are wild animals and it is just nature but to show them starving and disease and even in some cases they could be helped but no one watching them helps them it is sad. The show is a cruel reminder of how nature really is but, the people there could bo something and do not forget they can take the collars off and put them on when it is convenient but they cannot help them in other ways as far as not allowing them to starve and treating the sick and nursing the injured. I have done nothing in the last few weeks but cry over the little meerkats flower and mozart just broke my heart and I do not know if the show is worth constantly be upset to keep watching. I say shame on these people for not doing anything. Hope you get yours.

I am 70 years old, and i cried for both flower and motzard. However i woudn't

I know but i do wish they would try and do something to help the situation. These little creatures needs someone to help them if they are going to really survive in that cruel place. I cried myself when they both died but Mozart's death was the worst on me. They are around some and I know they edit the film but I also know that they are there part of the time following them and filming. i have researched this and know it to be a fact. Thanks for listening.

I agree with you brenda it just breaks my heart when the little meerkats die.I think that if they can help them they should.I cryed for a long time after motzard died she was probley my favorite meerkat.But then agin they are wild animal so i guess people shouldnt bother them.

Maybe but my deal is even when they are wild if we can help we should. I am feeding a wild kitten that is at the place I work because it was starving and trying to manage it would have died. This way at least it has a chance and I have only seen it twice but both times it was so afraid until it was running wildly in circles. Mozart was my favorite. I still want to cry everytime I think about her. I have been a witness to what a wild dog can do to a wild kitten and yet even though I tried i could not stop the brutal killing from taking place but I tried. I only know that some of this could be helped and we are suppose to try to help all creatures wild or not at least I feel that way. They do get involved with them because they put carlos to sleep due to the disease he had and was spreading. They put tracking collars on them and remove them so there is contact made with them. I just cannot get over some of what goes on and yet nothing is done. You know I would try to help them if i knew that the money that was sent would be used to help them. Just as easy as they sedate them to put the collars on they could do that when one is in the mess Mozart and her sisters were to give them fluids or something to help. They could even relocate them to another area that has more food supply. Do you think I am crazy or am I just asking too much.

I understand brenda i am a vegitarian i have been for ten years i have helped many wild baby animals and i think if they are not going to help the meerkats fully they shouldnt bother them at all!!

You Anisa I have to agree with you they should go away and leave alone because they are not doing anything to help them that I can see but show us just how cruel nature can be. I was raise in the wooods and I now live on a piece of land that I use three quarters of an acre for my family to live on and the rest along with the creek that runs along the edge of it is for the wildlife. I have always tried to help the ones that needed it and if they decided to come closer to the house there was food. Example: There is cat food that stays out there all the time and not only do the cats eat it but so does the wild life. The squirrels eat the bird food that is out for them and there is corn and sweet potatos for the deer and what ever else wants it. I guess what I am saying is there is always a way to help if you want to. No, we cannot save them all but we can make a difference in just a few if we try. I did watch the show last night because it was suppose to be the last for this season and yet my feelings on this is they need help to survive id no more than to figure out a way to make sure the food source is there for them and that if one needs medical see they get it. If you are going to be a part then be a part and do your part do not just invade and then say well it is nature and that is the way it is.

Well, lets start by saying that you need to stop and think for a minute. My friend said to me that actually started me watching the show. They sedate them to put the collars on them then they measure them,weigh them,check them for the sex,and any other information they need. They even name the babys so they do know everything about them through contact that they make with them. In the start of every show you will see the researchers standing there and the little meerkats are there too. They make millions of dollars off the meerkats but all the meerkats get in return is they watch them die and do nothing to help them. She is right these people make a lot of money from the meerkats but they do not get any help or anything in return but to watch them suffer and die. They really should be ashamed of themselves.

You know I agree with you on that. it would be different if they were trying to improve their quality of life but they are not. Any one that can sit by and watch nature be this cruel and still do nothing can only be in it for the money instead of trying to make a difference. I wish their were laws stopping them from just using them to make money. I feel so bad for them and wish there was something that could be done to improve their quality of life. I know that nature will be nature and there will be times that nothing can be done to help them but there is times that some things can be helped and situations could be changed. These are the time I am talking about. Yes, if you are not going to help then get out and leave them alone.

google they have alredy interfeared with nature by filming them plus in the begining of every episode they show them playing with the meerkats.so i think they relly should be giving at least a little bit of the profit to animal related causes.oh and one more thing google have you have ever been to a zoo if you have what do you call that,well i am thinking its interfearing with nature DUH!!!

Well Anisa all I Know is that one moment shakespear was trying to save Flowers pups and then he just was gone out of thin air.I have all ready have come to the conclusion that he [my favorite meerkat ] is dead.I want to know what other people think how shakespear dies or disappeares?

I understand from someone inthe Uk that they both are dead but do not have proof of that yet. Disappear like that sounds a little like cover up to me. Yes, I agree with the zoo. I have been once in my life and it upset me to see them caged and they were pacing back and forth. i just wish they would help them if they intend on continuing with this study as they call it. I call it inhumane. These people are money hungry vultures that claim to be trying to learn more about them. Now, that is a scam if I have ever heard one. Research my behind. I think they need to stop and take another look at what they are really doing; then get out or make life better for them. Not really sure how to do that but they are so brilliant they should figure a way; since they are the ones that disrupted their lives to start with.

I have started watching Meerkat Manor in the last month. By accident, when we got our cable again after a time of being tired of the industry's games , I turned to Animal Planet. The first show I saw was Meerkat Manor. What a treat!
I understand that these beautiful creatures are wild, and that they, just like us humans are just as vulnurable to nature. It's sad that Flower,Carlos,Mozart,and the Starky's are no more. But the Whiskers, Zappas,Commandos,and now the Aztecs will be back in Season 4 and continue with the Meerkat adventures! I can't wait for a new season,and wonder when the new date will be.
I understand that these beautiful creatures are wild, and that they, just like us humans are just as vulnurable to nature. It's sad that Flower,Carlos,Mozart,and the Starky's are no more. Hey, I agree and if they do not eat a sandwich then make sure you have your insects and such in your pocket to feed them. Come on now you know that there is a way to get food more plentiful there and medical help if they need it. Just as easy as it was to put Carlos to sleep they could treat some of the other for what ever is wrong especially if it is from starvation. You know that is a very painful way to have to die. Their little bodys cannot be that much different from ours and when we are dehydrated and it has been several days since we ate we hurt so I feel that they do as well. Warming blankets could raise the body temperatures if it is too low. hey we even do that for horses and cats,dogs. There are ways to help them and they need to do something other than make money off them. It just really tics me off that they exploit them and then stand by and watch them die. Now, that is not to even speak of the babys that we have had to watch die for various reasons that could have been stopped. Lord, it does upset me to think they can be so cruel when they could help. Nature is just that nature and though this is how it is the researchers have the means and opportunity to do something and if they are there they should or like you say get out and stay out. Thanks for listening.

Did you know that while I was in another sight on the meerkats that they were not suppose to tell us a Jackel is what killed Mozart. The narrator slipped and told it they were suppose to leave her death as undetermined. May not have spelled Jackel right so please forgive I was shocked. I just wish they would leave them alone and stop their money making non-sense.

I think that this show no matter how great it may be should have never been started in the first place and people should just leave all animals big and small alone.I am sick and tired of people ruining the lives and habitats of animals all across the world including meerkats!!!

Jane, I can only tell you what I have been told by someone from the UK that little shakespear die in the earlier season. I do not know exactly how or any details other than they said that he was dead along with squiggly after he was abandoned by the whiskers. I tell you it just upsets me to the upmost that they do nothing to help these little meerkats after invading their lives. I have learned to love all of them and Mozarts death was more than I could bear knowing she was torn all to pieces by that animal and they did nothing to help her. The camera was not in the location where she was killed so they had to be following her or they would not have known it was her. I do hope they get theirs for this.

Hey Jane, I am with you on them showing Mozarts body I still get upset to see her in my mind laying like that. Okay, for Flower and her death the only time I have ever seen her have any compassion for anything was that episode when she took one of the Zappa pups that was left behind by the Zappa and agreed to let it stay with the whiskers and try and protect it. I told you that part because this is what she was doing when the whiskers returned home with her and they smelled the King Cobra that had gone into their burrow after Flowers pups. Flower knew the snake had gone in to kill her babys and the baby sitter. Now, the baby sitter was able to get one pup out safely but the snake ate the rest of them I think there were two that the snake ate. Flower proceeded in the burrow to save her pups and the King Cobra bit her in the face. She came out after killing the snake and her face was swollen really bad and she looked horrible, she then crawled out and layed down where she died and yes they showed the whole thing on camera and I cried and got upset. Now, I had no real love loss for Flower but to watch her die like that was horrible and no in this case no one could have done anything to save her but they still did not have to show her dieing like that either. She died doing a motherly deed and being a true leader.

WOW the last episode of meerkat manor was cool now the aztecs will be on the show i am so excited and the pups are growing up so well i am proud of flower and all she left behind.So any way it was really sad when flower died also jane there was noting wrong with them showing motzarts died body on the tv.Well it was extremly sad when they revield her body it was completly natural and ok,ok maby it was a little bite intence but it was still fine.Oh and also i just wanted to tell you i have 10cats,3dogs,2rodents,at least 20fish and i am a vegitarien i really care about animals i really do and this show is very sad because they are not helping the poor little meerkats at all.

Hey, I saw that episode myself and you are right when the whiskers divided and now the one half id Aztecs and the others are still the whiskers I was a little releived by that because as many as was in the group I could see disease and other things happening to them due to the high number in the group. Anisa you are about as bad as I am. I have 16 cats,5 dogs,10 fish and a possum living under the house eating cat food with the cats. Now, it is a time around here with all these animals and each with their own personalities. I also have plenty of land for them all so that makes it better. I did not know you were 12 years old and yet you are very smart. I am glad to meet you. I am 47 years old and I have a hard time with this all but you are handling it all very well; actually better than I am.

Brenda, I agree with you about not helping the meerkats. I still cry over Mozart especially. It really upset me for them to show her dead body. Was that necessary and how Flower suffered. It hurts me so. Mozart is my favorite but now that she is gone, I really respect Mitch. Where do I vote for my favorite. Not sure if I can continue to watch and cry also. I love these little sweet things.

Wouldnt it be kind of hard for the people to feed the meerkats because there are so many groups.Say the want to feed the whisker pups and adults but then what about the aztecs,comandos,zappa how are they supossed to feed all of them?I agree with not donating money to animal related causes but i dont think feeding the meerkats would be very fair.

Hey, you know I really don't think it was necessary to show them like they did but they still did show them. My heart went out to Flower even though I had issues with her because you could just tell how much pain and suffering she was doing at the end of her journey. But, i will say if you have never seen what a wild dog can do to a cat it is traumatic to witness and I could have done without that image in my mind. Now, for feeding them I do not know but I was just thinking out loud that there has to be something that can be done to make food more plentiful for all meerkats and to improve their quality of life. I mean if you are going to invade them then try to do all you can to help them in what ever way is possible. I know that death and hard times are a part of life and nature but I still feel there is something that could be done.

I found the voting site and voted for Mozart but I still love Mitch. He is still around right? I am so glad to hear you guys felt the way I did too. I think it is really bad and am still having a hard time. I cant believe they are dead and I will never see them again. I participate in a lot of animal rescue and it seems just wrong that they did not help them from dying so violently. I love them

I understand where your coming from brenda justs a couple months ago i found a baby mouse only 1 or 2 inches long my mom let me keep it and i feed it milk every hour and rubbed its butt so it could poop and on the day i was going to start it on soild food it died.I was soooooooooo sad and still am for the loss of my kangaroo mouse named kanga :(.Any away i fell your pain i do but i dont think interfearing in there lives any more then they already have is going to help them.I think they should pack up there camaras and live then give some of the money to animal related causes as i have alredy said before.

Hey, you are right on that i feel they should get out and stop invading them. I just hope they will be okay and maybe things will get better for them. I pray so anyway. I understand that Mitch is still around but he is getting at the age he will soon leave to go find him a lady meerkat. Then we will probably not hear anything from him for a while. I am like you Anisa I feel they should donate all the money they make on them to an animal related cause if they cannot spend it to help them and they still will not take their cameras and leave but insist on remaining there. Did any of you know that they have put Season1 and Season2 out on dvd of meerkat manor. I found it on ebay the complete season 1 and 2. I almost went into a rage thinking about them exploiting those little meerkats. Makes me so angry to think they would go to that extreme to make money off them.

I read in one of the discussions that was held that one of the men directly linked to the meerkats said that they did not try to save flower because she was a part the the cambridge university study and they were there to observe and if they had of helped her then they would not have learned anything. Now, I did not know they could have helped her but they did just watch her die because he said they did not help her because of the study. That really makes me angry.

i just love animals i only really have 1dog,2cats,1hamster,1rat,and about 20fish th other pets belong to the rest of my family but i still live with all of them.WOW 6 ferrets thats a lot my uncle had one when he was younger they smell and my rat smells to dont they smell bad.

I was just on the site that Brenda told Cindi to go to and I found out that there was a Meerkat that looked like Shakepear.It was seen in a aouther group off the reserve.

You know I doubt that we will ever really know for sure if it is Shakespear. I found that part you read and I also wonder why we have not heard anything about them and that it was possible that he could be there with Sparky. I realize that that area they cannot go in but they still seem to go where and do like they want anyway.

I miss Mozart too. It still breaks my heart. I am not sure who all is in the Aztecs. The reason it is not on is because season three came to a close and season four has not started. I did not know when they would start but thanks for letting me know that. How did you find out Basil really did not exist? I worry about those little meerkats and hope they are okay. If left up to the people there who knows. sorry just venting again.

You know I still have not found anything stating Basil did not exist either. I am curious as to where you found that myself. If anyone is wondering how Shakespeare is he was confirmed dead in the U.S. 2007 summer. Oh yes one quick tip for anyone who is a meerkat Manor fan Zapjod is unrelated to Mabelyeen and is the Domenet male of the Aztecs. last time I heard no he had not. He was getting at that age where he would soon have to leave and go out and find a place and start his own but last I heard he was still with the whiskers. People get mad when their beloved meerkat dies likeFlower or Mozart, and they say " If Cambridge can put collars on them or put them down then why can't they help them when they die?" They put collars on them so they can track their movements. That way you guys can watch Meerkat Manor, and the only reason they put Big Si down was because he had a desease that would spread makeing alot of meerkats die.

GO TO MEERKAT MANOR TWoP Forums the first one then you'll see little numbers. click the arrowit will go to 46. click 45. go down till you see a long black line that goes down. you have to make the words blue by clicking the mouse and draging it down than you'll see basil never exsisted! that was a mouthful.

Thanks. You know, when I was in fith grade, we had a assinment(but i never finnieshd it) where we had to create a story and make it into a book. Well, I was thinking of somthing off of Meerkat Manor. So, I created fake meerkat mobs but the main one is called the "Aussie"(a group that is sort of like the Whiskers) and the dominate female is Lilly(with Flower's personalaty) and the dominate male is Sky(with Zaphod's personalaty). The other main Aussie members are: Steve, Sky's older brother(with Youssarian's personalaty), Rory, Lilly's younger sister(with Tosca's personalaty), Pansy, one of Lilly's daughters(with Daisy's personalaty), Beethoven, one of Lilly's daughters(with Mozart's personalaty), Cherryblossom, one of Lilly's daughters(with Kinkajou's personalaty), Cloud, one of Lilly's sons(with Shakespeare's personalaty) and Peak, Lilly's youngest son(with Mitch's personalaty. There is also Charm, the slyest rover around(with Carlos's personalaty). There are also two main rival groups: the "Starlights" that were lead by Sola and Big Dave(Lilly's mom and dad) but were overthrowen by there son and daughter, Twinkle-Toes and Moonbean. The other group is called the "Strikers"(a group that is like the Lazuli, Commandos and Zappa COMBINED!) lead by Marcus and Vicky. So, what do you think?

At the Aussie's house Lilly is first up. As working moms around the world it's her duty to keep her house clean. Later on everyone wakes up and takes the responsibilities seriously. Soon enough Lilly leads them all out to breakfast.
All of a sudden Peak raises the alarm. He spots a male on the sand dune. It's Silver from the Venus group. Sky readies himself for this roving male, but Silver's family comes behind him and Sky knows he needs reinforcements.
Rouge is a tough meerkat to beat. Her and her partner Shadow have a great group. Rouge won't stand and watch any longer. She charges with her best companion, Blaze right beside her.
The Aussie and Venus collide. Sky tears up Shadow and Rouge kills Lilly. After about half an hour later the Venus win but there's a price to pay. The Aussie are very strong and have tore up the Venus. Shadow's bleeding but he thinks he's a hero so he pretends not to feel any pain. Rouge is hurting too but she's a mother and leader. There is no time for lagging around but Blaze can't walk. As Rouge's sister from the same litter Rouge will not leave Blaze. She's left with a delima. It's getting dark and Rouge knows it. Thankfully it rained last night and Rouge finds enough to meet her needs. When she's full she gives the rest to Blaze who gladly takes it.

At the Aussie's house Lilly is first up. As working moms around the world it's her duty to keep her house clean. Later on everyone wakes up and takes the responsibilities seriously. Soon enough Lilly leads them all out to breakfast.
All of a sudden Peak raises the alarm. He spots a male on the sand dune. It's Silver from the Venus group. Sky readies himself for this roving male, but Silver's family comes behind him and Sky knows he needs reinforcements.
Rouge is a tough meerkat to beat. Her and her partner Shadow have a great group. Rouge won't stand and watch any longer. She charges with her best companion, Blaze right beside her.
The Aussie and Venus collide. Sky tears up Shadow and Rouge kills Lilly. After about half an hour later the Venus win but there's a price to pay. The Aussie are very strong and have tore up the Venus. Shadow's bleeding but he thinks he's a hero so he pretends not to feel any pain. Rouge is hurting too but she's a mother and leader. There is no time for lagging around but Blaze can't walk. As Rouge's sister from the same litter Rouge will not leave Blaze. She's left with a delima. It's getting dark and Rouge knows it. i was just about to tell u that we wer gonna switch. oky heres da sen: emma is getting soo restlest that shes going for dominte position but so will blaze but lilly is having troble of her own becaus rory had a secret fling with silver and is preagnant with her second litter(she had one along tim ago but lilly killed them kinkajou style) but if lilly and rouge were having enouf trouble FIVE new groups will be causing trouble:pokemon, sweet peas, starlights, strikers, neopets(sweet peas are very docile but dont make them mad; pokemon will only fight if forced; starlights are lilly's old family; strikers will fight untill evry meerkat is in meerkat heck; and neopets are a small timed group who hate to fight).

We might be able to have the Neopets but you have to come up with ALL the names. Do you think that you can handle this? Last time on Meerkat Madness, the Aussie lost some of their land but the Venus are beat up badly and Lilly of the Aussie and Rouge of the Venus are both preagnant.
At Aussie everyone is happy-go-lucky. Lilly is finally up and is looking alot skiner. She is now new a mother of four. They are safely underground with her trusty daughter, Beethoven. Today Lilly is aided with the burrow clean-up. It's her adopted half-sister, Galaxy. Young and inexperenced, Gal is just happy to stick by her big sister.
At Venus everyone is in rage. Mean mother-to-be Rouge is not taking any sympathy. But right now, there are meerkats intruding-----but not the Aussie. This is a new group called the Sweet Peas. Lead by Bella and Torres, this group is only here to seek info on the Venus. Silver, the roving teenager starts cheaking out the young Sweet Pea females that seem intresting to him. Ruby, Angel, Honey Bunny, Starlot and Yelozo seem to be good choices. But Shadow imedeantly swipes his anal gland on his son; there will be no love making around here. Bella decides that this family isn't what shes looking for and the 32-strong Sweet Peas chase off the Venus.
Back at Aussie the group is now back at home but has made a horribal discovery. Rory, Lilly's sister has had a "quickie" with Silver and is starting to show. Lilly gives her sister a eviction warning bite on her tail-base. If Rory thinks that the warning hurts, just wait until the real thing.....

I know what cha mean. But how can you not luv hannibal? He's like a male version of Flower. Flower was rough and tough and so is Hannibal. I he was a better choice for Flower. Zaphod should have gone with Cazzana and Big Si should have been with Nikita.

iluvmerrcatz, ya know mournful mozart? Well, I've got a friend on there and...her brother died yesterday. I just got on so I didn't see her post. She's got an 8 yr old nephew without a father and I just might cry now. I hope you can understand that I won't be posting as often as I used to. ok last night i figured out somting very confusing: in mms2 the 'commandos' were introduced but they were actully the 'vivian' lead by jim bob aka hannibal and rhian aka nikita. the vivian died off in flliming of mms4. so now the 'real' commandos are bening used and they are lead by zorrila aka the 'new' nikita!

To day on Meerkat Madness Silver is up early. He basks in the sun and heads off to the Aussie. He's going to skip breakfast and head straight for dessert.
When he gets there he spots a female. Liza and her group are already out and about foraging. He sneaks closer to her. He's almost there...but then he has to scat. An alarm went off at the last minute. While this cocky rover is looking for love his family is looking for Sweat Peas.
Rouge is up and today isn't taking ANY prisoners. About half an hour later she spots the group and everyone starts to war dance. Blaze has been feeling a lot better and when Blaze is all rested and pregnant...punches fly.
The group collide and Blaze is taking it out on a bigger male. Rouge tackles the dom
