Working on it as we speak...
I wanted to use aflax to use flash socket connections, but it looks like it is physically impossible to make an irc client in this manner... I think I will have to use Java... unfortunately.

When I paste base.google.com/base/items into the box to get the module it says it cannot be found. All the other's I've tried have been .xml files. Am I doing something wrong?

For some reason, Google Base modules stopped working today on the Google Personalized Homepage. That's too bad. Other XML modules work fine...

Any city in US, Canada or UK should work... to change your city click the "edit" link.

This doesn't need a city, you can add any text for the "room" name. If others choose the same name for the room as you, you'll see each others' text.

It sure would be nice to have a list of all the places that people are "hanging out". Especially since there aren't many people who use it so if there is no one in my hometown (or even the capital of my home state) maybe I would like to visit the happening spot over in No Name, Colorado.

This module is, unfortunately, unlikely to be useful. It is only useful for a quick message, because how many people actually stay on their homepage? They soon go off browsing. Another thing is you can specify whatever place you like, such as Heaven, the Moon,... whatever you can imagine. Last thing: is there any reason the localchat.php file is on a personals site?

Hey Garrett, this module is great... But is there a way to see the names of the other people in a room? I'm trying to put together a room for my friends but it's hard if we don't know if anyone else is in the room. The IRC module isn't working because of IRC domain firewall restrictions.
